Marks the beginning of ‘Fantasy Hockey’ for all hockey fans
November 29, 2018 | Lausanne, Switzerland: The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has signed a four-year partnership agreement with Dream11, India’s Biggest Sports Game. Dream11 has become the Official Fantasy Game Partner a Global Supplier of FIH for the 2019-2022 cycle. In this deal, Dream11 will develop and operate fantasy games relating to all FIH events that include:
1. FIH Pro League (2019-22)
2. Hockey Series Finals (2019 and 2021)
3. Olympic Qualifiers Men & Women (2019)
4. Junior World Cups Men & Women (2021)
5. World Cups Men & Women (2022)
This global partnership will kick-start at the upcoming Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup Bhubaneswar 2018. This is the first time in its history that FIH has associated with a fantasy game platform for the hockey matches. Hockey fans will get the unique opportunity to select their fantasy hockey teams before the actual teams are announced, for all FIH global matches.
Announcing the partnership, FIH CEO, Thierry Weil said: “I’m very pleased that Dream11 will accompany us as Global Supplier for the next four years as well as Global Partner for the upcoming men’s World Cup. This deal will help engage more people with hockey, in particular, the current 44 million gamers on the Dream11 platform.”
