The roar of engines, the flash of racing colours, and the buzz of adrenaline filled Bengaluru’s air last weekend as the city hosted its first-ever Formula 1 Fan Park. Over 200 motorsport enthusiasts gathered to celebrate the thrill of speed and precision, getting a rare chance to come face-to-face with racing history, featuring Kimi Räikkönen’s steering wheel and parts of his championship-winning machine.
“F1 has moved from being a niche interest into one of the fastest-growing fan movements in the country,” said Yannick Colaco, co-founder, FanCode. “From Drive to Survive and the F1 movie to superstars like Max Verstappen, Hamilton, and Piastri, the sport has captured imaginations worldwide,” he told us.

For many fans, it wasn’t just about the race but about being part of something larger. “Watching a race with a crowd is incomparable. You exchange stories, perspectives, and memories of past races. It makes the sport feel bigger and more engaging,” said Merin Mandanna, an attendee at the event.
‘Bengaluru has a strong motorsports culture’
Gautam Maini, father of Indian motorsports racing driver Kush Maini, shared, “Bengaluru has always had a strong motorsport culture, from karting tracks to racing enthusiasts, the city has long been home to passionate F1 fans. This screening was the perfect opportunity for that community to come together and experience the race in a shared, electric atmosphere. Events like these go a long way in strengthening India’s motorsport culture, and we need more such experiences for fans.
